SEEGER SESSIONS

When my brother and I were youngins, my dad would take us to upstate NY every year for the Saranac Lake Winter Carnival. I didnt give a fuck where it was because it had this sweet fucking ICE PALACE with a slide. To prepare for the six hour drive we would fill a couple shoe boxes with cassette tapes. My brother's cassettes: Nirvana, Blind Melon, Def Leppard, Danzig. Mine: Weird Al Yankovic, The Animaniacs soundtrack, Phil Collins (pretty sure Phil was a hand-me-down from my brother). Nothing we played over our walkmen however could keep us from giving in to what my father would inevitably play on the car stereo; a Pete Seeger and Arlo Guthrie live album titled "Precious Friend". I was never sure why this became the tradition, but we genuinely loved those songs. I've been wanting to cover a Pete song for a while. Heres one from that album.

PRECIOUS FRIEND YOU WILL BE THERE

SPITTY BABIES

Yeah, Yeah, Yeah, I haven't been doing what I'm supposed to do. Well first My birthday happened. Then I got Shining Force 2 for my birthday and couldn't stop playing it. Then I had to go back to work for a week. Still there too. But I aint giving up on this baby. This baby is going to be a good strong, healthy, spitty baby.

So here we go again, SOME OLD STUFF! I've not forgotten that I'm supposed to write and record song and draw a drawing day.

PUPPIES IN DRESSES

Not that sure if anyone has seen this either. I was planning on doing another 3 little santas film... until i had this crazy fucking dream last night about something else, and then i wanted to make a film about that.

FEED THE BEES

For Stevie-Lynn's last birthday present I gave her permission to have a cat in the apartment. Then I got her one, a small black bombay kitten with a white whisker on its forehead named "The Bees", short for Beasley. Five months or so later, The Bees became my companion in unemployment and a true friend. He even shed his white whisker recently in honor of my own male pattern baldness. The song is about the bees biting my ankles every morning when I'm walking to the john, meaning hes ready for breakfast.

FEED THE BEES

The song reminded me of an older drawing from my sketch book. That day I happened to be worried if I broke my cats leg after accidentally slamming the door on it.

FIRST SONG-A-DAY

It was bound to come up on an unemployment blog, folks. That's right! Excruciating pain in my right heel without the hope or convenience of medical benefits. Web MD suspects me of having "Achilles Tendinitis", most common with ball players, gymnasts, and NYC commuters. I say its Gout. Or is that a toe thing? The Song of the day is about the dying animal connected to my leg. I was talking about my foot, but yeah, i guess there are a couple different ways you could look in to that.

CONNECTED TO AN ANIMAL

I worked from 9am to 4pm on this blog today. That's one hour better than an actual job!

TRIANGLE SMILE

It is SO ME to cop out this early on a great idea. I promise to actually record a song-a-day when my craptop gets back from the apple tech shop. For now its just too much fun pulling out these old recordings. Plus we need to get those toes wet.

A couple summers ago Ian Calder(friend and self-proclaimed psychic)and I worked on five songs under the name STUD BAND, the only group in which I played drums (fortunately).

CHECKING OUT MY OWN PEEN

To start things off I wanted to experiment with this 'DivShare' player. Mighty impressive. So here is an oldie but goodie by Sharkicorn: Me, Joy Smoker, and Chuck Goodwin during our days at Pratt Institute. this is the cover of MJ's Billie Jean.

SHARKICORN- BILLIE JEAN

Funny story, I was just playing this for Stevie-Lynn, who only 15 minutes ago found out that I was doing the lead vocal. Despite hearing the track 300 times prior. Said "Finding out that wasn't a chick singing lead was like seeing the arrow in the Fed-Ex logo for the very first time".
